Ladies Book Club

Village Girls Book Club is open to any lady who lives in The Village of Five Parks. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at The Depot from 6:30-9:00pm. We visit from 6:30-7:00 then discussion of the month’s book selection is facilitated by one of the members. Village Girls Book Club was organized in 2004 by Erin Giardino for any lady living in The Village of Five Parks. It began with a few ladies and has grown steadily over the years to over twenty ladies. Each December ladies share summaries of books that have interested them that year as suggestions for books to discuss in the following year. In January we review the summaries then vote on which books to read. We read fiction, non-fiction and biographies. On occasion we have even had authors of books meet with the group. Ladies are selected to facilitate the discussion each month, usually the one who suggested the book. Discussions are lively and all opinions are respected. Through the years we have developed such a community among the ladies who attend. It is heartening to see that the group includes moms with young children to ladies in their eighties!
